Position: Facilities Supervisor

We are seeking an individual who loves the Lord and has a heart for ministry.  Please submit an application and (3) three letters of reference, (1) one letter for returning staff, to the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Facilities and Assistant Facilities Managers
  • Providing leadership to part-time and summer staff
  • Performing regular inspections, preventative maintenance and repair on buildings and equipment
  • Cleaning of camp buildings and outdoor facilities
  • Removal of snow during winter and spring
  • Participation in the opening or closing of the facilities as assigned, which includes late nights and early mornings.

Qualifications:

  • Mature, committed Christian desiring to grow in faith and serve God in a Christian camping environment.
  • Experience in a team setting, providing leadership and supervision, ability to work well with others, and demonstrated sensitivity to guests’ needs within a service organization.
  • Experience in the following areas would be helpful: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, automotive.
  • The ability to operate equipment such as chain saws, snow blowers, lawn movers, back pack blowers, log splitters, snow plows, skip loaders and four wheel drive vehicles and other equipment related to facilities.
  • The ability to work inside and outside in various weather conditions such as cold and hot temperatures, rain, snow, high winds and dust.
  • Evidence of strong initiative, self-direction, flexibility and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Able to work well under time pressures and a flexible work schedule.
  • Capable of climbing stairs and lifting 50 pounds.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
  • Must pass a background check.

Compensation:
This is a full-time position with wages to be determined by extent of qualifications and experience.  Onsite Housing may be provided depending on housing availability and candidate skill level. Facilities Supervisor may be required to work weekends and evenings.  Fringe benefits include annual vacation, participation in group medical, dental, life, and disability programs after a three month introductory period and institutional contribution to retirement program after three years of employment.

Position: Higher Ground Ropes Course Facilitator/Instructor

We are seeking people to join our facilitator’s team to work on our high and low ropes course. Individuals who enjoy interacting with people and work well in a collaborative team environment will thrive with Higher Ground Ropes Course. We look for leadership skills, enthusiasm and a sense of humor. This is a part-time position. Hours are flexible and facilitators work on an “as-needed” basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete Ropes Course Instructor training
  • Facilitate small groups through teamwork activities
  • Belay participants on High Ropes elements
  • Belay participants on Climbing Tower
  • Zip Line Instructor
  • Participate in ongoing training and education
  • Assist in the continual up-keep of Ropes Course elements and equipment

Qualifications:

  • Must Be 18 years or older

  • Team player who is willing to take and give feedback, who loves to learn and grow and help others become more self-aware and empowered

Position: Guest Relations Host

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with all guest groups.
  • Available to help guests whenever needed.
  • Implement, maintain and support Alpines’ safety and guest service standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must love working with children and be able to guide them to a “Mountain top encounter with Jesus Christ.”
  • Mature, committed, Christian able to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind and your neighbor as yourself.”
  • Computer skills; speaking skills; excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Experience in a team setting; ability to work well with others; demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of others.
  • Evidence of strong customer service skills.
  • Commitment to the philosophy of ministry, mission and vision of Alpine.
  • Evidence of strong initiative, self-direction, flexibility and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Experience of working in an environment with frequent interruptions and the ability to handle what is perceived to be challenging at times.

Position: Outdoor Adventure Trail Leader

Responsibilities:

  • Successfully complete Outdoor Adventure instructor training.
  • Teach courses from developed curriculum.
  • Aid in hosting OA groups. Be a contact person when questions or needs arise.
  • Participate in all programmed activities.
  • Be able to lead all programmed activities if called upon to do so.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education.
  • Research topics related to current curriculum as time allows.
  • Assist in developing additional curriculum and courses under the direction of the OA manager.
  • Participate in staff meetings and devotionals when available to do so.
  • Take responsibility and care for all equipment and materials used for OA program.

Qualifications:

  • Mature, committed Christian desiring to grow in faith and serve God in a Christian camping environment.
  • Responsible, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work with others and be a team player.
  • Willingness to work long and varied hours, Monday through Friday.
  • Willingness to take and follow direction from supervisors—teachable spirit.
  • Enjoy working with young people.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or experience in Education, Natural Sciences, or a related field desirable.
  • Possesses knowledge of the environment, outdoor living skills, and a desire to continue growing and learning.

Compensation: Salary plus room and board.

Dates: Fall - (Early September thru mid November); Spring - (Late February thru early June).
