50th Anniversary Celebration Report
Memories drifted through the air like falling leaves. Long time friends embraced and retold familiar stories. Children ran through the camp playing tag, adding sounds of laughter to the chorus of excited voices. Alpine’s 50th anniversary celebration on September 15, 2007 was a remarkable weekend of remembrance and renewal.
Over 650 people throughout the Pacific Southwest Conference attended the celebration. We were especially fortunate to have a representative group of the Alpine founders in attendance providing a sense of history to this significant event. Renewal of Alpine’s purpose was encouraged in the keynote address by Dr. Lon Allison as he exhorted listeners to keep reaching the lost through his message: “Gotta fly, gotta crow, gotta save Maggie and Jack!” Our mission to provide a mountain top encounter with Jesus Christ was never more clearly articulated.
A surge of momentum towards paying off the Alpine mortgage was punctuated by the offering of $22,102 received at the celebration. Thankfully, we were able to completely pay off the debt by the end of December 2007! We are grateful for the shared vision and sacrifices made by our donors to help us reach this goal.
God has been gracious to this ministry for fifty years. We look forward to a “debt-free” future with God’s compassionate provision to bless and guide us. Thank you for your interest and support of our ministry. Truly, the best is yet to come!
